What is the Musical Theater Program (MTP)?
Due to COVID-19 our musical theater program is currently put on pause. In the meantime, check out our small in-person and virtual class offerings!
MTP provides the opportunity for young professionals to become accomplished musical theater performers. The program’s focus is to train ‘Triple Threats’- talented individuals who can sing, dance and act with equal accomplishment. Tuition in this program includes up to three (3) core classes (one acting, one dance and one vocal), along with a role in our main stage production (Fall & Winter Terms) or Travel Troupe (Spring Term). The development of performance skills is a vital part of being a Triple Threat. With the opportunity to be on stage, students will grow into a polished stage performer. This program requires a hefty time commitment for classes and rehearsals. We hold students enrolled in MTP to the highest of professionalism in order for them to survive this highly competitive field in the future. Students will be assessed and placed in classes that best suit their individual needs. Students may also enroll in additional classes (outside of included core classes) at a reduced monthly rate.
Note to Parents
Each child enrolled in MTP is responsible for a guardian to volunteer at least 6 hours towards the production or pay an additional $125 fee. MPA is a volunteer run organization and each production requires hundreds of volunteer hours to make it happen. The support of parent volunteers are vital for the sustainability of our organization. There are two mandatory parent meetings (first week of rehearsal and the week before tech week).
