Important things to note:
Important things to note:
- Our camps will be a combination of outside and inside.
- You will need hats and sunscreen! Please apply sunscreen in the morning and send them with more reapplication at lunch time. MPA can not apply sunscreen, but we will remind kids at lunch time to reapply.
- All meals, snacks and water bottles should be brought to camp every day. MPA does not provide any, we do have a water fountain so please bring a water bottle. All meals and snacks must stay ON CAMPUS. Students are not allowed to leave for lunch.
- Kids will have their own assigned plastic cubbies to keep their belonging in which will be stored inside.
MUSICAL THEATER INTENSIVES
The purpose of our intensive production camps is to put on a big show complete with costumes, sets and lights. This means tons of rehearsals music, scenes, and dances. We have a lot of fun at camp but putting on a show is also HARD WORK! Your child should express a strong interest in taking part in a performance. Beginning or younger students may not feel the rewards until the show/camp is over. The repetition of learning music and dance may at first be tiring and even boring. We think that is okay! Your kids will play games that stretch their imagination and bodies, and we invite everyone to step out of their comfort zones. Not only will kids learn their lines and music, but they will also learn to listen, focus, support each other and open their minds. We believe that theater is a learning experience that not only prepares them for a show, but also for life. Please note that if you are unavailable for a performance, please do NOT sign up for camp. Performances are mandatory. Daily attendance is very important for the success of the performances.
The first day of camp is the audition. Students will be learning music, choreography and doing cold reads from the script. The cast list will be sent to students before camp the next day. All campers will be cast in the production. (Remind your student that all roles are equally important for the success of the production). Trust the process and the artistic team with how they cast the show.
Students will be responsible for having appropriate under garments for under costumes, show shoes and base makeup! More information on these requirements will be given to parents once the show is cast after the first day.

Performances: July 1st at 6:00pm, July 2nd at 11:00am and 2:00pm
Tuition: $600 (early bird and family discounts)
Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat, our narrator, tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child, who gets in trouble for thinking too many "thinks." Horton's challenge is twofold — not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!
This musical theater intensive is designed for beginning and intermediate performers! Spend two weeks immersing yourself into music, dance, and acting rehearsals. Camp ends with 3 fully staged performances on July 1st and 2nd! When a postulant proves too high-spirited for the religious life, she is dispatched to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval Captain. Her growing rapport with the youngsters, coupled with her generosity of spirit, gradually captures the heart of the stern Captain, and they marry. Upon returning from their honeymoon they discover that Austria has been invaded by the Nazis, who demand the Captain's immediate service in their navy. The family's narrow escape over the mountains to Switzerland on the eve of World War II provides one of the most thrilling and inspirational finales ever presented in the theatre. The motion picture version remains the most popular movie musical of all time. Created by Rodgers & Hammerstein with iTheatrics, Getting to Know... The Sound of Music has been edited to better suit younger performers, but all the elements that make this show a classic are still in place. You and your students will be enchanted by the timeless story and the dazzling score, while at the same time learning about theater and its production.
This musical theater intensive is designed for intermediate and advanced performers! Spend three weeks immersing yourself into music, dance, and acting rehearsals. Camp ends with 4 fully-staged performances on July 22nd, 23rd & 24th! Daily activities include theater games, rehearsals, and opportunities to learn/help with set design, painting, props, lighting, costuming, and more!
