Elementary kids start to learn the ins and outs of musical theater through our very popular Broadway Jr. Performance Program. To continue building those skills, we offer Technique Classes in acting, music and dance classes, which can be taken alone or as a supplement to Broadway Jr.

For students on the waitlist for Broadway Jr. we recommend trying our Technique Classes, which are a great introduction to musical theater.

ELEMENTARY CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Acting Fundamentals

This fun and supportive class is the first step to understanding what acting is all about! Through the use of theater games, storytelling and role-playing, students will stretch their imaginations and discover the endless creativity within themselves. Students can and should take this as many times as they want.

Broadway Jr - Saturday

This fast-paced and fun performance class is both a class and rehearsal all in one! Beginning actors can experience the ins and outs of acting, rehearsing for and performing a fully staged play or musical. Time is spent each week exploring acting techniques as well as rehearsing.

Character Building through Adventure Role Play

Develop a character from the ground up through roleplaying. This class aims to explore the emotional development of a character, improvisation, voice acting, problem-solving, and unsurprisingly roleplaying! Stimulate the imagination and level up your acting. Learn to create a character and make improvisational choices using that character's backstory and traits. This class is geared towards our new or newer role players. To level up into the advanced class you must have teacher approval. This class is rated PG.

Tap 1

A beginning tap class designed to develop rhythm, style, and sound. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. The class emphasis is on developing proper tap techniques and producing clear tap sounds. Students will be able to take this class several times and will move up levels based on the teacher’s recommendation.

Broadway Dance 1

Students will learn the fundamentals of broadway dance with techniques that will help them with everything from auditions to exposure to the broadway dance world. From the golden age to modern shows, students will learn dances to their favorite broadway songs throughout the year. Classes will help students build a skill set that will level up their audition techniques and help them add dance verbiage and styles as performers. No previous experience necessary.

Broadway Jr - Sunday

This fast-paced and fun performance class is both a class and rehearsal all in one! Beginning actors can experience the ins and outs of acting, rehearsing for and performing a fully staged play or musical. Time is spent each week exploring acting techniques as well as rehearsing.

Music Fundamentals

This fun class will introduce students to a variety of musical skills. These fundamentals include elements like rhythm, melody, harmony, dynamics, and form, which work together to create a cohesive musical piece. To help students understand these concepts, class will consist of games, playing instruments like bells and boom sticks, and learning group exercises that are essential for both listening to and creating music.

Saturdays or Sundays | 9:00 am - 12 am

This fast-paced and fun performance class is both a class and rehearsal all in one! Beginning actors can
experience the ins and outs of acting, rehearsing for and performing a fully staged play or musical. Time is
spent each week exploring acting techniques as well as rehearsing. We recommend first time students who want to perform on stage to enroll in this program.
