The Day & Night of Magic 2025

What happens when you combine a group of actors, a theatre that looks like a castle and a fundraiser for Shakespeare productions? A Renaissance Faire full of music & merriment!

On Saturday, August 9, 2025, Metropolitan Performing Arts hosted our first Day of Magic. Patrons in their finest fantasy attire were able to browse a marketplace full of vendors, pose at Ye Olde Portrait Parlour, have their fortune told by our Diviner, play tabletop and card games with friends, do arts and crafts in Fairy Corner, and take in the entertainment at The Bard's Stage. A stage-fighting demonstration gave everyone a chance to experience what it's like to learn stage combat, a class that is offered at MPA throughout the school year.

There was juggling, "tomato" throwing, storytelling and the cutest parade there ever was.

The Night of Magic was held inside our theatre, which was transformed into a castle for our Wizard Acting Camps. Our adults-only evening event was full of delicious potions, a creative costume contest and a rowdy game of trivia.

All proceeds go towards the theatre and will help us be able to continue offering free Summer Shakespeare in the Park around the city of Vancouver. Thank you to everyone who made this event a success!
