Summer Scholarships

Metropolitan Performing Arts (MPA) strives to make our programs and classes available to all students, regardless of financial circumstances. The Julian Wehde Scholarship offers need-based funds for student tuition - and is available every term with an approved application or renewal. The Emily Skeen Scholarship Fund offers one year of weekly, private 30-minute lessons based on merit and need.

MPA is a volunteer run organization, and we need your help! Our scholarships provide a discount to full tuition and ask for a commensurate commitment from the families or students. Volunteer hours will be applied toward tuition at the rate of $30 per volunteer hour, for up to 80% of the total class fee. Scholarship students are expected to pay at least 20% of the class fee (either directly or funded through external grants).

Complete the Online Application using the link below

Once your request has been reviewed, you will receive an email notification with information to register for the appropriate program, class, or camp.

By filling out this application my family and I understand that 90% attendance is mandatory for all scholarship recipients. Students are committed to their program, class, or performance by fully showing up, being prepared and spending time to practice outside of class. Students and/or family members of scholarship recipients are expected to volunteer at MPA and respectfully fulfill scholarship requirements. Failure to attend classes, rehearsals and to log volunteer hours will disqualify recipients from future scholarship funds. Families do not need to qualify for free or reduced lunch to be eligible for assistance.

Please reach out to Kris Heller (krisheller@metropolitanperformingarts.org) if you have special circumstances that you would like to discuss.
